Project spotlight - Ceiling replacement and repaint

This 1990s family home had been showing its age, but one issue stood out above the rest: the original plasterboard ceilings were failing. When the home was first built, no sealer was applied before painting and there was no insulation or sarking in the roof —saving money at the time but causing major problems decades later. Over the years, the paint began to break down, the ceilings discoloured, and sections became unstable, leaving the owners with no choice but to replace them entirely.

With the homeowners heading off on a well‑earned holiday, our team stepped in to manage the entire process from start to finish.

What we did:

  • Full project management of trades, scheduling, and site coordination

  • Safe removal and replacement of all affected plasterboard ceilings

  • Dust and damage protection for the kitchen, cabinetry, flooring, and surrounding areas

  • Daily oversight to ensure the home remained secure, clean, and respected while the owners were away

The owners returned from their holiday to a completely refreshed home with brand‑new ceilings, crisp finishes, and zero mess. Their property was protected, the work was completed on schedule, and the transformation was seamless.

This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful planning, careful protection, and strong trade coordination can turn a major renovation into a stress‑free experience for homeowners.
